With a book and a tattoo.......

I am never really any good with these things, I kind of feel like I am at a job interview. So let's see, what can I tell you about me and my little blog thingy? Ok well I am an avid reader and have been doing since I first learned how. About a year ago I became a part of the review world. I am in no way a professional and I pretty much do it for the fun of it. I have no rules and no guidelines for myself, well except for I always have to be completely honest. And you can tell by my reviews that I have posted so far that I have no problem at all with that. I add my personality to every review and I know things don't always make sense but I bet you laughed(hopefully). I usually stick to romance books but I have been know to pick up others if the cover and synopsis garb my attention. I currently help out on a couple blogs and reviews teams plus I am an occasionally guest reviewer on one.

To tell you about me well, I am a 30+ year old stay at home mom. I went completely blind about two years ago. But with a couple of eyes surgeries I now have complete vision back in one eye. I have a serious weakness for tattoos and I am currently proudly showing off 12 of my own. Yeahhhh, so that's it for now.

This Man Confessed by Jodi Ellen Malpas

This Man Confessed - Jodi Ellen Malpas

I was given this book by Netgally for an honest review.

I am not going to lie and say that I wasn't terrified to read this book. After the train wreck from the last, it took me a good 10 minute pep talk to pick this up. I am a little glad I did. This was actually the best of the whole trilogy. And I am not just saying that because this was the last book. I actually grew to like the characters a little. Jesse chilled a little, Ava became less annoying and got her vagina back for a bit. It was all smooth sailing and I was a little impressed. Even excited, by jove, I think she's got it. Yay author lady, you actually have a story I can stomach. Applause all around.........

Sighhhh then, I was slapped in the face with Chapter 26. It all went off the rails here,, snit hit the fan. I was back to square one with these two and I was pissed. Really, you had to bring Sarah back in and Jesse has to go and act all friggen stupid about it. And Ava has to lose her va-jay-jay.. Once again the throwing of the Kindle began. I believe with this series I may have created a new Olympic sport. I mean it is the same thing if you continue to work for Mikal and he still lets Sarah work for him. Guhhhh. And the snit where he cheated on her and he finally confesses the full truth to her. She realizes he has done nothing but lie to her. But wait she stays with him.  All he does is LIE Ava. That's it. I really hate this man by now. And I want to slap Ava around, after she has the babies of course. Then we find out he never told her he was married and had a daughter. Sweet Jebus next we will find out that he was once a woman named Romona who stripped for JFK and was abducted by aliens. By this point this story truly lost me and I was pretty much done. But I had to finish so I did. More lies, more demands, more sex and there ya go. The only part I ever liked was when he told her to shut her fing mouth. That was it. Ok I am so done with this series. Good luck. So be warned, this series will make you want to castrate a man and punch any chick named Ava in the vagina. I want to rant so much more but I just can waste anymore time.

Starlight (Peaches Monroe #2)

Starlight - Mimi Strong

I was given this book for an honest review.

I am so in love with this series that it should be illegal. I am strongly considering moving to a state where they allow same sex marriages so I can have Peaches in my life fooorever lol. The stuff she comes up with and the stuff that comes out of her mouth, had me spitting coke onto my Kindle! I am sure as you can tell by my other review I am Team Peaches all the way, and I will gladly remind you that I love her to pieces. I am sad to say that I am disappointed with Dalton, I just can''t seem to figure him out. I was kind of glad he outright admitted to what he did but I was sad he just kind of let it go so easily. With him being such an exuberant character in the first book, it almost seemed like he lost some of that in this book. I hate to say it but I am Team Dalton all the way. Although I do believe he should be drug out into the middle of town and stoned in the balls a couple of times. Is't that like Commandment 11: Though shall not dick over an awesome woman, if so than punishment shall be 2 stones to the balls? If not, do you think we can start it? Ehhh Keith, well I just , just don't feel him. I mean when he was hot, he was hot but other than the sex and a couple of goofy cute things, he got on my nerves. I just wanted to buy the man a Big Mac with extra sauce. And at times it almost seemed like he did pick on Peaches about her weight, but he did it to where it didn't really seem like it, odd.

Lord I didn't mean for that paragraph to be like that, oops. Anyways, now this will probably get me stoned to death in the middle of the town buttttttt to me this book did not measure up to the first. It was close but it just didn't make it for me. It wasn't even as funny as the first, now don't get me wrong, I laughed but not as much. And I have to ask, was there any hint to the big bombshell that Peaches dropped hinted to in the first book? I honestly can't remember. But if there wasn't then ehh I think that it was really dropped like an awkward bomb. Still even if it was hinted to, it was just an odd way to throw it out there. I mean BAM, guess what I have at home. And the relationships also seemed kind of awkward at times. And yes I am a little pissy that things with Dalton just kind of ended, lol. I wanted more boom, more shock and awe. Maybe there will be some in the next. But seriously Mimi, did you have to go and end it like that? I mean come on, hot buttered noodles and all! My poor heart can''t take stuff like that. Do you want me to buy you a Big Mac? Cuz I will and I will even throw in some fries if you tell me a little bit about the next book.

Hell's Phoenix (The Road to Hell 2) by Gracen Miller

Hell's Phoenix (The Road to Hell) - Gracen Miller

I was given this book for an honest review.

I am at a stand still. I am not sure which book I have liked more, the first or this one. Sigh it seems that this book may have been more twisted, more mouth wateringly hot than the first. I wasn't even sure if that was possible. But oh boy, how I am so in love with this series.

So as you have already noticed Mad's life is a little chaotic. Yeah, you know she needs to go pay the bills, remember the dry cleaning and go save Nix from his fate in hell while keeping her son Amos safe. Nothing out of the ordinary for this suburban mom lol. I am telling you that I just love her. She is just so strong and deals with everything that life throws at her. She never backs down and is always giving herself for the ones shes loves. I think she is just great. And oh so yummy Nix, he may have a tarnished soul now and he may have done some serious(ok and maybe a couple of hot) hellish things but I can't help but admire him. He would do anything for the one woman that he has ever loved and he proves it over and over again. And I am so sorry, but I find myself crushing on Micah a little after this book. Yes, he did some seriously jacked up stuff but in his own way he did those things out of love. And the tiny tiny tender side you saw of him just melted me a little. But I am still so totally Team Nix. Hey Gracen, I may need a shirt that says that lol.

Yeppers, as you can see I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was defiantly a one sitter for me, I never even put it down. Like I pointed out this story was a little more twisted than the first, you found out all kinds of meat and ewwy things. I found myself sitting there with my mouth hanging open a a couple of times. And I also may have needed a fan and maybe a glass of ice water. Shiver me timbers, this was one steamy book. And yes, I just used a pirate saying, sorry. Once again fantastic writing, constantly kept me guessing and questioning everything. It all just flowed and I don't think there was ever a down time. I can not wait to read the next in this series.

Tattered Love by Lola Stark

Tattered Love (Needle's Kiss, #1) - Lola Stark

I was given this book for an honest review.

Holy sweet Jesus babies!! I am in love! Well some serious lust anyways. I honestly could not put this book down, hell I want to pick it up and read it all over again. Gahhhh.

Let me get on to one of my favorite parts, the characters. Scarlett(Scar)is your average everyday woman who has had the usual ups and downs in life. For now things are looking up, she has her own business, a tattoo shop and friends that are more family than anything in her life. She is on cloud 9, but sadly that one little detail is missing, love. She is just so unlucky with love,, so she has just decided it's not meant for her. Until that one fateful day that Mace walks into her shop. Mace has just gotten out of the army and is home for good. he decides to pop in and surprise his brother and get a little ink, why not? Little did he know he was going to be smacked dead in the face with the one thing that has been missing in his life, Scar. But this gorgeous hunk of man has lots of hurt in his past that he thinks he can never get over. He may want love and Scar in his life but he honestly thinks he doesn't deserve it. So the big question is will these two finally let themselves see whats standing right in front of them or let their past ruin it all?

Let me tell you, this book was so friggen hot that it had me tearing up. I mean I would get this smirk and bite my lip so much and there were tears in my eyes. No, not from any sad stuff, but guhhh this book was just ..just...amazeballs. Look I am trying to keep it PG here and that's the best I could come up with. I believe I may have permanent teeth marks in my lip now. I loved the characters. Scar was just hot, sassy and tattooed. I love tattoos. I loved the stuff that came out of her mouth, she was friggen hilarious. And Mace, ohh tarter sauce that man. I am telling you, these two have me speechless. The things this man said, from the dirty stuff to the cutey wutey stuff, he had me. And once again, lets throw in more tattoos! Did i mention I love tattoos? Ugh.

On to the story itself. I liked it, it wasn't my favorite part obviously but it was still good. It did have a couple of tiny parts that got a little boring. And let me point out that my most hated word in the English language is the word "panties" and grr that word was used a lot in this book lol I noticed a couple of editing errors and one where I thought in the beginning where the twins were 4 when the mom left but later in the book it said they were 2. I could be completely wrong so don't quote me on that. Even though those tiny things, the characters completely won me over. I mean all of them.
Loved it and can not wait to read more from this series.

The Long, Hot Texas Summer by Cathy Gillen Thacker

The Long, Hot Texas Summer - Cathy Gillen Thacker

This book was given to me from Netgalley for an honest review.

I found this book to be lighthearted and sweet. Even though it dealt with a couple of heavy issues it was still a light happy read. Here we have Amanda who is surprisingly a beautiful carpenter with a heart of gold. She is so strong willed and says what ever comes to mind, she doesn't seem to let anyone hold her down. Well except for maybe herself. I hated to see that she thought so little of herself and had such low self esteem. Then in walks a tall cool drink of water that is surely needed on a hot Texas day, Justin. Whooo what woman doesn't love her a stubborn strong willed man? But little do we know he is hiding some insecurities also. He hired her to do the carpentry work for his up and coming boys ranch. He has a hope to bring light to some troubled boys lives and little does Amanda know she is just the right person to help him, in more ways than one. It was sweet to watch these two grown to love and trust each other, including themselves.

Like I said this was a quick light read for me. It was way different from what I am use to reading but I was still caught up in the story. I loved reading about these two characters. I think the author did a fantastic job with this whole book and I can't wait to read more from her.

Pandpra's Box by Gracen Miller

Pandora's Box - Gracen Miller

I received this book for an honest review.

Wow! Yep that is my first thought...just wow! This book was just all over the place. It just started out with a bang and rarely slowed down for a second. I can't count the number of times I caught myself holding my breath. Eeeeeeeeee! Loved all the characters. Madison was just fantastic. I loved her balls to the wall attitude that she had right from the beginning. Even when she was ready to give up, she stayed strong and never did. And the way she stuck by her son, Amos, just made me love her more. No offense but I may have had to slap my kid around a couple of times after some of the stuff he did. But then again, it wasn't all his fault. Poor little guy got the short end of the stick when it came to DNA. But no matter what happened you never saw Mads not sticking up for him. It was great. At times I did picture Amos as a blonde Chucky doll. Shiver. Sigh, now Nix the man-whore. Yep I just sighed, I just added another book boyfriend to my harem. This poor guy got hell all in his life and was still so strong when he knew someone needed him. He never gave up on Madison and Amos. It sucked that the minute love was handed to him it got snatched away. My heart broke for him. He literally sold his soul to save the ones he loved. And oh did I mention that he has tattoos? Mmmm well he does.

As far as the story and all goes, well as you can tell I thought it was great. It was action packed, lusty and twisted. Yay! Haha, it seriously never slowed down, you rarely got a break from one of those three things. Now the good lusty parts, were great. It was just enough to get you wiggling in your seat but it never over did it. I think if the author would of put more it may have ruined the story. Now there was bad icky yucky lusty stuff to and that also ties into the twisted stuff. At some of those times it became ewwy times and I would just shake my head to clear the images. The only bad thing to this book was, although it may have been the roller coaster ride from hell, it did drag some for me. Sadly I did catch myself wondering if the story was over yet. There just seemed to be a lot packed into one book. But i can honestly say that I can not wait to find out what happens in the next book.

Fairy Casanova by Gracen Miller

Fairy Casanova - Gracen Miller

I was given this book for an honest review.

Let me start by saying that I love the 1 Night Stand series. I think every book I have read from that series has been great.

Ok so here we have Sadie, who's life has basically went to crap overnight. She took a gamble with her job and like in Vegas, you win some, you lose some. Let's just say she lost, big time. Not only that her POS fiance ran off with another woman. So she finds out about a famous 1 night stand service and goes for it. And in walks Jace, the poor guy seems to have his own dilemmas. The guy is about to become the King of the Fae in Fairyville(yes I had to giggle at the name) and he would like his last night as a free man to be spent with a human woman. They are both pleasantly surprised and quite pleased with the match up. After some questions, confession and a little I'll show you mine, where the he shows her his wings, they are off to the races. Well bed races that is. With some very interesting sex and yes he uses his wings on her, they both come to realize they want more than one night. But with his situation, that can never happen. Until a loving shoulder kiss where he unintentionally marks her as his mate. Then he leaves her to choose to meet him in his kingdom or go on with her life in Vegas. Which should she choose?

This was a hott sexy interesting read and I dare say this author has yet to disappoint me. With a great story line, some hot yet odd sex and fun characters i would definitely recommend this book to others.

Stripped - Jasinda Wilder

So I finally got to stop and read this book that I have heard such amazing things about. And as I sit here all I can really think is, well it was good but it wasn't ranked up there with the best that I have ever read. So I will go ahead and start with the characters. Here we have Grey, yes I like the name but at the same time I kept flashing back to FSOG. I just couldn't help it but that didn't really bother me. She had to grow up a sheltered pastors daughter in Georgia. And if you know anything about the south, then you know some of these people are serious about church. I loved it when she would stand up and fight for herself, she would fight to get what she wanted. But then at times it seemed she was almost lost and wasn't even sure what she was fighting for. It almost seemed to me that by the end of the book she never really got to find herself. But that's just my opinion. And then we have rich boy actor Dawson, all yummy bad boy. It seemed he had no idea who he was either. he just partied harder and harder, did his job and whatever chick was with him for the night. But somehow these two damaged souls found each other and magically through all the tears and fears(hehe) they came together and lived happily ever after. Yay!

Ok so I didn't really like this story, I caught myself skimming through parts of it because I would get bored. Couldn't help it. The characters just drove me nuts. I just never really got them, I couldn't connect with them. I hate it when that happens, it can kill a book for me. They just seemed so fake and annoyingly whinny at times and come on really, their love just seemed so forced. I didn't feel their love for each other, it didn't move me at all. It was just kind of icky. Ok enough with my rambling.. On to the good stuff, I will honestly tell you that in the first few chapters, I cried. Oh I cried A LOT! Now that stuff there got me and I believed it fully. And sweet holy moly the sex in this book was just earth shattering. Yeah I stole that from the book. But goodness, I needed a fan, a glass of ice water and a cold shower all in one. I mean maybe if all the passion that was put into these scenes was used throughout the whole book, I would of loved maybe even craved this book. But sigh that was about all there was for me. Oh and I liked a few of the songs in the playlist.

Two Roads - L M Augustine

I was given this book for an honest review.

This book...wow. Just this book. It honestly took me a bit to get into it. But the minute and I am thinking it all started with chapter 13, when the first tear fell, I was a goner. Ladies and gentlemen, please keep your trays in the upright position and secure your tissue boxes, because you will need them.

Good ol mean girl Cali Monroe, the girl everyone wants to be, the girl everyone seems to envy and look up to, the girl who seems to have everything going for her. The girl who has a deep dark secret.....her life is a complete lie, her life is all an act and everyday she seems to lose a little more of herself. Pretty soon she may be so lost, that even she can't find herself. I really did like Cali, even when she was being her witchtastic self. She helped you remember that even though people may seem all perfect, you never really know what is on the inside. I will tell you the one thing that did drive me nuts, she was very repetitive. For a little while there she pretty much said the same things over and over again, I just kept thinking, "Does she know any other words?" Luckily that did stop. And of course I loved Logan, I do believe this is the first book that I have read where the hot guy was a nerd. Let me tell you, I love me some nerd boys. And he wasn't a bad boy, I loved his t-shirts. And just like Cali, he wore a mask. He let everyone see what really wasn't there, and all along nobody noticed this nerdhole(yeah I had to steal it) was falling apart also. These two lost themselves together and seemed to find themselves together. It was so sweet to watch and yes like I said earlier, some of this book made me cry, like a two year old. Through all the loss, rivalry, pain, pranks, misplaced guilt and name calling, I am glad these two found love with each other.

As you can tell, I thought this was a great story. I loved the use of the poetry in the book and even loved the little poems for each chapter. The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is actually one of my favorite poems, so of course I loved seeing it so much in this book. Like I said the only problem I found was how repetitive some things got. The characters did seem to repeat themselves for a while there, mainly Cali. I felt like I was reading the same page over and over again. But that seemed to be the only major problem I found. Lovable characters, fantastic poetry, adorable mischief, a great love story, a hot nerd boy and some tears later...I can honestly say I loved this book. Oh, Oh wait...hey L.M., did Logan ever get to read the poem????

Chaysing Dreams by Jalpa Williby

Chaysing Dreams - Jalpa Williby

I was given this book for an honest review.

So, I finally just finished this book!. It was good! At first i thought that I really wasn't going to be able to read it all the way through! When it first started out I was kind of bored! And yes I know you are probably wondering why in the world I keep putting an exclamation point at the end of all my sentences but you will just have to keep wondering for a little bit longer! Like I was saying, this book started out a little young for my taste and I honestly didn't think I could hang with it and I vowed if it kept up like this I was just going to be done! As you can see I was able to hang in there and by 31% I was able to stick with it. I am kind of glad I did because I did for the most part enjoy this book!

We meet Tess in the beginning at the young age of 15, she wants you to think she is just an average teenager just living her life. She engages in her studies and is very involved with sports, she even volunteers with autistic children. How could you not love her? Sadly, I didn't love her. She was way to perfect and I wanted to gag half the time. So besides her perfect priestliness, I did like her part of the time. She seemed to be strong and never let anything stand in her way. Until that fateful day she meets Joe, Chris and Chayse. Yes he is all the same guy. I can't tell you to ,much without giving this all away. He is your typical hottie nice bad boy that every girl is drawn to. And oh yes, he sings and plays acoustic, melt my heart. Let's just say these two are unique and no matter how much he tries to keep his distance he is always drawn back to her. Just when it seems that they may finally find a little bit of happiness, it is all of a sudden ripped away. A group of people want Chayse for what he is but they have no idea about Tess. He decides to make the ultimate trade, himself for her life. In doing this he will leave Tess for good and with no memory of him. Yeah I may have shed a few tears at this, yes I know I am such a girl. So she wakes up with no memory of him only to find out she has been missing for 3 weeks from her best friends. Yeah I had to wonder also, I mean didn't they think about this? I don't know maybe he was guaranteeing on this to maybe help jog her memory? There was also something that happened when they were together that Tess can never get back, so how did she not realize something that major had changed? Hmmm, kind of weird. Oh i almost forget that they both seem to have nightmares that they don't realize invovles one another and seem to tell a little bit of the future.

In the beginning this story moved so quick and skipped through so much time that it got a little confusing at times. I just wanted it to slow down and take a breath for a minute, maybe smell a rose or two lol. Oh lord and the exclamation points, yeeshe! There were just so many of them, I mean it seemed like there were 20+ per page for a while there. I am telling you, these were some very excited people. Drove. Me. Nuts. Besides the rushy rushy at the beginning and everybody being overly excited throughout the book, it really was a decent story. I hated that I never really knew what was going on. I had a million and one questions and yes some of them got answered but definitely not all of them. And that is one of the main reasons I hung on, I just had to know what happened. And I now just realized that I have no idea when the next book will be out, someone please get this author on the phone because we need to have a very serious conversation. Overall, I ended up liking Tess and Chayse, I mean come on the man sang and played acoustic! Sigh. The story started out slow and young but when it picked up, you just hung on for the ride. It was full of adventure, action, excitement, passion, mystery, questions, heartache and loss. So much packed into one book and thankfully the book never seemed to be weighed down by it. So if you are looking for a story that is going to have you constantly wondering, WHERE THE, WHY THE and WHAT THE HELL? Grab this one up and quick. I am now going to sit here patiently for the next book. Hint, hint, wink, wink!

Maverick by Anna Cruise

Maverick - Anna Cruise

I am reviewing this book for My Family's Heart Book Reviews.

I have been sitting here honestly flipping through stuff on my computer just trying to figure out what to say for this review. And trust me that doesn't happen a lot. Even if I claim that I don't know what to say, I usually do. But not this time, nope I just kept trying to come up with something. And I am not saying that this book was in any way bad because it was good but it was just a book to me. It was nothing more, nothing less. And very few people know what to say about "just a book." So I am going to say what I can, the best I can.

I guess I will start with the characters. At first I thought I would like Gina, I mean she seemed to be a take no junk kind of chick and you don't always see that in these types of books. But the more I got to know her, the more I just wanted her to take a chill pill and stop all the whining. I understand that this girl had something very tragic happen to two of her loved ones but eek, the way she was constantly flipping out on the poor hot guy was terrible. I felt bad for him. And that brings us to Kellen, the poor hot surfer guy. He is also suffering from a tragedy and of course like any damaged bad boy he is handling it with alcohol and numerous random girls. I seriously wish I could give him a cookie for having to deal with Gina. Anyways, so Gina is hired to fix Kellen's image after he gets into some trouble and from there, their rocky relationship starts. I honestly never really saw them as more than friends, I got no romantic warm and fuzzes when it came to them. Did they ever actually use the big "L" word? Did I miss that somewhere? So as far as the characters go I didn't like her and him I just pitied. Who wants to be with someone that is going to be constantly reminded of their murdered first love every time they look at you? Eesh.

So as I was saying, this to me was just a book. It's just there. The story wasn't bad, it did keep me intrigued though. I wanted to know the whole time what Gina's story was. You pretty much got Kellan's out of the way from the start, but her's you just had to wait for. Drove me nuts!  And when all the puzzle pieces finally fell in place, I was just like "eeh ok." The sex was luke warm to me and the romance was nada, I mean anytime you thought aww here we go, bam the crazy came out of the girl lol. I wished there would of been an epilogue also. What happened with them? We saw 2 months in and that was it. Did we have any surf babies? What happened with her brother Leo? Did Kellen take back to the waves? This book left me with no closure, sighhh. I still decided to give this book 4 stars because there wasn't a thing to give it 3.5. Great story idea even though there was no closure for me, I was disappointed with the characters and their relationship or lack there of. But I will say this, it was a great story idea and the parts that were good, were actually great. So hopefully that explains my rating.

Spring Argyle by Christine Cunningham

Spring Argyle - Christine Cunningham

This book was given to me by ParaSuperNormalism for an honest review.

This book turned out to be an adorable light summer read, I could picture myself sitting in a porch swing lounging and reading away. Here you have Liz and Jacob who met through an online dating site. After their date Liz told Jacob that she wished to remain friends only. And although Jacob secretly wished for more, he agreed with her. Every week they would meet for an "undate" where Liz would tell him funny tales of her latest online date. Nothing ever seems to work out until one date, where Liz says maybe there might be more. Jacob in turn decides to finally ask out a very pretty lady who is visiting relatives. Sadly he gets stood up and that was that. Also come to find out that Liz's new beau is nothing but a fake and a liar. Jacob confronts Liz and there the spark ignites. Liz finally see's more in Jacob and decides to give it a chance but bum bumm bum, Liz finds Jacob in what she misunderstood to be a compromising position and runs. Finally, they get their act together and get their HEA.

Like I said very adorable light refreshing read, great writing and great story. The writing flowed well and kept me very intrigued in the story. Half the time I wanted to shake Liz and tell her to take a look at Jacob. I mean what more could you ask for? He's attractive, smart, funny, caring and he owns a bookstore. A BOOKSTORE!!! That right there is my dream man lol. I was also very excited to see that there were other books in this series and I can not wait to pick them up.

Surrender Your Love by J.C Reed

Surrender Your Love - J.C. Reed

Eeshh what can I say about this book? It's pretty sad when I can't really even figure it out. I just didn't like it and really some of it I just didn't really even get. I really didn't think the characters where all that bad, well maybe. I get that what happened to Brooke was suppose to be uber traumatic but it still left me going, "Wait that was all?" Sadly I needed more for me to be invested in her tragic past. I caught myself kind of just rolling my eyes as she told her story, there just wasn't enough there for me. Maybe it was just Brooke herself, it just seemed like there was something missing for her.

I liked the story at first but the more I got into it the more I was just like "Oh come on already this is ridiculous". I didn't like it at all until chapter 30 and I loved chapter 30. It seemed to be the only real part of the book, but once again after that it just flopped for me. The sex wasn't even really all that great, ecspecially not their first time. It was to wham bam thank you mam for me. Don't get me wrong, now some of the scenes were hot but over all, nopers. And of course it ended on a cliff hanger and yes I will be reading the next book. Sighhhhh

What can I really say about this book? Honestly I thought the story idea was great, the synopsis grabbed my attention. I really couldn't wait to grab this and start reading. But sadly that's where it all ended. Now the book as a whole was about a 3 star for me. There was really nothing about it that grabbed me and made me want to hold on, it just kind of all went downhill from the beginning for me.

The characters weren't all that bad really. First we have Stella, ok I am not going to lie and say that every time I red her name I wasn't screaming "STELLA" in my head.. I honestly couldn't strop myself from doing it and when the bartender did it, I busted out laughing. She was basically your everyday woman struggling to make it in this big ol world. She wasn't the typical long legged statuesque blonde cover model either. And trust me this girl had some serious self esteem issues. She even admitted to being obsessed with a coworker because he seemed like the perfect guy, hell she had already named their kids lol. I liked her in parts of the story but sometimes she annoyed me. Second we have Cambell, the typical tall dark and handsome egotistical millionaire. I liked him best when he was drunk. He seemed to show actual personality then. Other times he was kind of dull. Well he was quite adorable when he was being sweet closer there to the end. Eventually they got their act together and he stopped saying all the wrong things and they got their HEA. But please, please let me point out that if a man tells you that he loves you for the first time while that is going on, well continue on like you never even heard him because that is just so not romantic ladies and gentlemen lol.

Now this story idea was truly a great idea but the execution of it was just all wrong. The story was just so choppy in areas and just kind of seemed jammed together in some places. It kind of almost resembles a 5 year old's macaroni art. You know the idea was great but when it's all said and done the end result is somewhat a cute little mess. I really think that the best part of this story was the end and please, I don't mean because it was over either. I mean in the last few pages it almost seemed like the author relaxed and the story actually started to flow some, it wasn't as bumpy. And here we are left with somewhat flat characters, mediocre sex scenes, there were a few laugh out loud moments, a great story idea and not so great story telling, My opinion and my opinion alone has led me to my 3 star rating. But like I always say, just because this wasn't the book for me doesn't mean it may not end up on your best book ever list.

Sellin Scarlett by Ella James

Selling Scarlett - Ella James

I was given this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

So this book was a little of all kinds of jacked up right from the start. Half the time I could't figure out if I was coming or going. Whiplash central here! I honestly am stuck on how I feel about this book, I mean, of course there were parts I liked but sometimes, I just had to roll my eyes. I mean the exciting parts were good but at times it just got kind of dull and maybe even a little predictable. I kind of figured out who one of the bad guys was right from the start. it kind of killed the mystery for me a little. So like I said I am here just kind of stuck wondering what in the world just happened.

So here we have Elizabeth(Libby) who is just an odd duck. I was a little confused about what her background story was when she came into the picture. And there was still some unanswered questions I have about her. I did like her though. I found her a little immature at times and maybe a little stalkerish but she grew on me. Now Hunter, hmmm yes I will say he was the typical hot, messed up bad boy. But like Libby I didn't fully get him either. So much left unanswered about theses two. And their relationship was just odd at times, or what little bit they had. And when they finally took care of her V-card it was just blah, I was left asking myself if that was it. I mean come on even FSOG went down better than that lol. Sigh but I am glad after all the weird trouble they got their HEA.

So now to the story and writing. Well you got some of my feeling in the beginning so here are the rest. I seriously can't figure this book out. I am still kind of dumbfounded here. Sad I know. The writing was so so. It was good at times and bad at times. The author seemed to give to much detail when it wasn't needed and not enough detail when it was needed. Major head shake here. I felt like I was driving over speed bumps just trying to get through this book. But I hung in there till the very end. So with an odd story, storyless characters and I am not sure what else, I am for some reason giving this story 4 stars. Maybe it was just some of the jacked up stuff that got my attention, who knows. At this point don't ask me lol.

The Posse by Tawdra Kandle

The Posse - Tawdra Kandle

I was given this book for an honest review.

I  found this story to be a light and sweet read. Here we have Jude, a strong, sometimes feisty and a little heartbroken widower. Still 2 years after she lost her husband she is still trying to stay strong while mourning the loss of her first love. Then we have Logan. 1 of the guys from The Posse. The Posse is just a group of 5 friends that have stuck together since grade school. In a way they are all still mourning the loss of Daniel, Jude's husband and one of the honorary members. After a night of drinking they all come up with a plan, that one of the single member will be the one to take care of Jude if she chooses. Little do they know that Logan has secretly been in love with her his whole life. So after some awkward moments Jude and Logan realize that they share the same feelings. It was very sweet to watch the love these two shared grow and become so much more.

As far as the story goes, this is way different from what I am use to and I can honestly say that all though I really never got into it, it still was a good book. Great writing and maybe there was a couple of mess ups here and there but nothing terrible. It truly was a light and sweet read, just a little to sweet for my taste though. So I did battle with my self on what to give this book, 3 or 4 stars? So after going over the pros and cons and really only finding one con, I gave it 4 stars because it really was a good read.
